INDEPENDENT BOTANICAL EVIDENCE

General ecology

Lolium arundinaceum is a perennial grass that the Finnish source records from seashores and as a cultivated turf or forage grass. It is native from western Europe and North Africa to Central Asia and established more widely in temperate and cool regions, so it is not globally restricted to coasts.

FIELD DATA → EARTH OBSERVATION

How this taxon enters the analysis

These steps show what this record contributes to the 2024 study. They do not turn the taxon name into a remotely sensed measurement.

  1. 1 · FIELD EVIDENCE16 of 120 plots

12 occupied plots have a positive numeric cover value available for occupied-plot cover summaries.

  2. 2 · TRAIT ELIGIBILITYCCI n = 12 · leaf area n = 5

Both traits passed the documented minimum of five measurements. Their species medians can be weighted by relative cover when constructing plot-level community-weighted means.

  3. 3 · MODEL LINKPlot response, not species detection

Plot-level ecological responses are paired with UAV predictors. A fitted model can estimate variation in those responses across the landscape; this record does not train a classifier for Lolium arundinaceum.

Interpretation boundary: UAV or satellite imagery does not uniquely identify Lolium arundinaceum in this study. Follow the complete field-to-EO workflow →
